HAA June 2023 Letter from Mrs.Chan

It has been my privilege to serve as President of the HAA this school year. I can’t stress enough how much it means for my family and I to be part of the OLMCA community. I have repeatedly witnessed what a devoted, engaged community can do to expand their children’s environment for success. Dozens of volunteers dedicated hundreds of hours to make our HAA events, programs, and activities a huge success.

On behalf of the HAA Executive Board, I want to thank our entire school community for their support of our many programs and events for the students at OLMCA. Whether it’s volunteering for an event or simply attending one or your contributions of time, effort, and/or money validates and broadens your child’s educational experience. Furthermore, your support of the HAA expands every child’s opportunity for growth.

Below are some highlights from 2022-2023:

  • Family Masses
  • Halloween Party
  • Zumba (Community Outreach Series)
  • Winter Mixer at the West Side Tennis Club (Community Outreach Series)
  • Book Fair
  • Fall Dance
  • Thanksgiving Lunch

  • Breakfast with Santa
  • International Night
  • Open House
  • Valentine’s Day Dance
  • Fall Dance
  • Yoga (Community Outreach Series)
  • Spring Dance

  • Paint & Sip
  • Talent Show
  • Daddy Drop-off Day (Community Outreach Series) (6/14/23)
  • End of Year Block Party (6/20/23)

None of this would have been possible without the support of the staff, teachers, parents, and the many volunteers of the entire OLMCA community! For that, I like to say, “thank you”!  I would like to extend a special “thank you” to my fellow board members for their exceptional talents and significant contributions: Drea Iny, Biviana Stalzer, and Paula Diest. Additionally, I would like to welcome Clodine Hawkins to the Executive Board as Vice President for upcoming 2023-2024 school year.

Now on to the difficult part…it is with a heavy heart to inform you that my family and I will be leaving the OLMCA community. This community has been such an integral part of our lives which has made the decision to leave even more difficult. We’ve met so many incredible people, families, and friends. Thank you all for enriching our lives. Although we are moving, we want to wish everyone well.

Until we see each other again!

Sincerely,

Silvana Chan

HAA President
