BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS

Have Your Pets Blessed

October 4th marks the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. To honor him, it has become traditional to have a blessing of animals close to his feast day.  This year, the annual Blessing of the Animals at OLM will take place on Saturday, October 5th, at 11:00am.  Please bring your pets and join us on the Juno Street lawn, adjacent to the statue of St. Francis, All pets are welcome. But please be sure to have your pets in a secure carrier or on a leash for their own safety

The Home Academy Association Needs a Vice-President!

Thank you to all the parents that attended our first HAA last Thursday! We were excited to share updates about Deck the Halls and other upcoming events. Now, we need your help! The Home Academy Association is looking for a Vice-President.  Through fund raising, teacher recognition, support, and school improvements, the Executive HAA Board works to promote a connection from home to academy.

If you are interested in joining this dynamic group of parents, please email Mrs. Murphy at [email protected] with a short biography that can be shared with the parent community by Thursday, October 3rd. The virtual election will be held on Tuesday, October 8th. Thank you for your continued support!

The responsibilities include:

  • Acts as a support to the President
  • Performs the duties and exercises the powers of the President in the absence of the President
  • Performs such duties as assigned by the Home Academy Association
  • Works closely with the Grade Representative to coordinate social activities/events for the division
  • Schedules and attends monthly meetings
  • Oversees special events and activities

Are You Ready to Deck the Halls?

Planning is already underway for our third annual Deck the Halls Christmas Luncheon on December 8! This fundraiser raised over $16,000 last year to help our school families who experience unexpected financial hardship. It takes a village to make this event successful - every little bit helps! We are in urgent need of raffle baskets for the event. If you would like to volunteer to solicit luxury items, have a contact in marketing or sales at a luxury brand, or would be willing to donate a basket valued at $150 to $200, please contact Mrs. Bourgoine: [email protected].

Sincerely,

Mrs. Murphy
