Confirmation

Congratulations to the Eighth Grade Class of 2024! The students were blessed and strengthened with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit during their Confirmation with Bishop Witold. We were so excited to see the 8th Graders return on Sunday for their Family Mass with their Kindergarten friends. It was another wonderful celebration of the OLMCA community.

A special thank you to Mrs. Hoffman and Mrs. Beadle for helping to guide and nurture the students’ faith in their preparation for this Sacrament. A tremendous thank you to Monsignor McGuirl for his spiritual leadership as he continues the Mercy tradition of “Monsignor Mondays.” Thank you to the parents for believing in Catholic education and being your child’s first teacher for their faith. We could not do it without you!

Stages on the Sound-Culminating Performance

Since the start of the school year, the fourth graders, sixth graders, and eighth graders have been immersed in a theater experience thanks to Stages on the Sound. Our teaching artist, Brandon, transformed the classroom into movie sets as well as The Globe Theater. From 8th Grade’s riveting performance (along with Shakespeare bloopers!) of Shakespeare’s The Tempest to Sixth Grade silent films to the Fourth Grade’s hilarious fairy tale sequels, the students learned valuable skills about creative drama, working as a team, and finding their voice. Thank you to Mrs. Cuccio and Mrs. Hoffman for guiding our students to such an outstanding culminating event.

OLMCA’s Toy Drive

We are again collecting toys and baby items for the children served by two charities we have worked with in the past: The Bridge to Life and Catholic Charities. Our goal is 100 toys/items! The age range for toys is from infant through pre-teen; baby items including diapers/pull-ups and pajamas for newborns through toddler are also needed.

Items can be dropped off in front of the School Office until Friday, December 14th.

We welcome volunteers to help sort on a weekly basis (this is a great opportunity for service hours for our students). If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Kathryn Bourgoine at  [email protected]

HAA’s Breakfast with Santa

Saturday, December 16th

Tickets will go on sale for our annual Breakfast with Santa next week! Delicious hot food and Christmas crafts included! This is sure to be a HOLLY-JOLLY event. Be sure to invite all your family members and friends. We look forward to sharing the Christmas spirit with you all!

Thank you to all of the parents and family members that have offered to donate something to the party. We are asking for all donations to be delivered to the school office by Friday, December 15th at 3PM. If you would still like to volunteer or donate for this event, please contact Mrs. Lillian Coca at [email protected] to share your ideas or learn how you can help.
