World’s Finest Chocolate Sale Results

 

Our World's Finest Chocolate Sale was a huge success! We are awaiting final collection of the boxes being sold. However, our projected profit is $12,000!  Our top 3 sellers sold a combined 46 boxes!

 

Congratulations to the following winners in the World's Finest Chocolate Sale:

 

First Place:  Madeline Sands- Grade 5

Second Place:  Sana and Farah Hormi- Grade 1&2

 

Thank you to all our families that sold chocolate and/or donated to the sale.  All prizes and incentives will be distributed over the next few weeks.

 

Parent Teacher Conferences (3K-Grade 8)

The Second Trimester will conclude on Thursday, March 16th Conferences will take place on Thursday, March 23rd from 1-3 PM and again from 6-8 PM for all students (Grades 3K-8) of OLMCA. As we get closer to the date, additional information will be available about scheduling conferences.

 

There is a 12:30PM dismissal for all students. Conferences will be conducted from 1-3PM and 6-8PM.

 

Please note that accounts must be fully up to date for you to receive your child’s report card and meet your child’s teacher. Hot lunch will be served at 11:30am, for all students. There will be extended Care from 12:30PM-5:30PM.

 

 

First Reconciliation

 

Our Second Graders will receive the sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time on Saturday, March 18 at 12PM. The students have been preparing through prayer and practice with their teachers. We are very much looking forward to celebrating this wonderful occasion with the students and their families. 

 

 

 

LENT AT OUR LADY OF MERCY - 2023

 

Daily Mass is offered at 9:00 A. M. every weekday. On Saturdays, there is a 9:00 A.M. Mass and also a 5:00 P.M. Vigil Mass for Sunday.  

 

Our Sunday Mass schedule is 9:00 A.M., 10:30 A.M. and 12:00 P.M.  

 

The Sacrament of Penance is celebrated every Saturday from 4:15 P.M. to 4:45 P.M. in the Church.  

 

Additionally, the Brooklyn (and Queens) Diocese, the Rockville Centre Diocese (Nassau and Suffolk Counties) and the Archdiocese of New York (Manhattan, Staten Island and six upstate Counties) will sponsor a Monday of Reconciliation at a date yet to be announced.  

 

Stations of the Cross will be celebrated each Wednesday of Lent at 7:30 P.M. in the Church.

 

On every Thursday evening of Lent, Deacon Dean will expose The Blessed Sacrament for quiet prayer and meditation from 7:30 to 8:30 P.M.  

 

Monsignor McGuirl would like to offer Bishop Robert Baron’s excellent and inspiring CD series, “The Pivotal Players, on the Monday evenings of Lent at 7:30 P.M. in the Church Hall.   This program is an expansion of Bishop Barron’s masterpiece presentation “Catholicism”.  Now the Bishop explores the lives of six people who he feels made major contributions to our Faith tradition: Francis of Assisi, Thomas Aquinas, Catherine of Siena, Leonardo DaVinci, John Henry Cardinal Newman and C.K. Chesterton.  If you would like to upgrade your Faith, even explore it more deeply, or learn more about these pivotal thinkers please join us.  See details on p.4 of the Bulletin.  All are welcome!  

 

Re-registration 

Priority registration for current students and their relatives began on Tuesday, January 17th.  Families must be current on this year’s tuition to register for next year. It is imperative that you return the form with the fee as soon as possible to ensure that your child has a seat for the 2023-2024 school year. All re-registration documents must be submitted as soon as possible. If you need an additional form, please contact Ms. Hinkson at [email protected].

 

Financial Aid

Financial aid applications for students in Grades K-8, who attend a Brooklyn or Queens School or Academy has begun. Once you have registered for next year, you can apply online for a Diocesan scholarship. Families who apply during the first round are the only ones eligible for the maximum scholarship.
