Principal Newsletter 3.28.23

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Oratorical Contest

We are pleased to announce that we once again had our ORATORICAL CONTEST! This annual contest provides a wonderful forum for the development of our talented students’ oratorical skills. Congratulations to Kanisha Kapoor, Maximilian Lanzarone, Charles La Punzina, Hailee Llamas, J. Benjamin Louis, Amber Mangold, and Zara Showers, This was a great opportunity to foster the development of poise and confidence in our students and provide a medium to enhance the essential life skill of public speaking!

Congratulations to J. Benjamin Louis of the 8th Grade as he will be representing OLMCA at the Diocesean Oratorical Contest in May! Thank you to Mrs. Hoffman for working so hard to organize the event and make it such a memorable experience for the students!

Fire Safey at OLMCA

The student council saw a need and they addressed it! Get ready for Mercy’s Fire Safety Extravaganza! On April 3rd, we will have a very important visit from FDNY First Responders for Grades 2-8. They will also bring the “Smokehouse” which is the Mobile Fire Safety Experience Trailer. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a fire simulation complete with theatrical smoke. Keep your eyes peeled for a student created poster campaign.  Also listen for student announced safety tips in the morning. Thank you, Student Council, for planning a much-needed event!
