Alessia Berletti-Papa, Mason Calidonio, Thalia Gianni, Naomi Goya, Avi Gupta, Noah Leon, Sinead O’Connell, Joshua Paduani, Lauren Solorzano, Kenneth Shum, Evan Tan, and Sofia Tavares earned Bronze at the Semi-Finals last week. It was some of the finest ballroom dancing that we have ever seen!
As the Indigo team, our Eighth Graders showcased their best dancing moves on Friday, March 23 at the Van Nest Academy. Emmanuel Bellido, Maevince Dorotan, Jack Fischer, Yana Gupta, Stephen Heerey, Laura Hullihan, Joseph Kazmierczuk, Saanj Mehta, Lauren Mlicko, Kacper Niepokoj, Klinsman Ryan, and Angelina Warren. They earned a silver trophy as they danced against some of the best 8th Grade teams in the city.
Thank you to all of the parents, family members, and friends that came out to support these talented young dancers! We are beyond proud of our students!
New York State Testing (April 11 and April 12)
English Language Arts New York State Testing will begin for students in Grades 4, 6, and 8 when we return from Easter recess. The exam has changed from two days to three days. Our students and their teachers have been hard at work preparing for these exams. We wish them the best of luck as they take their exams. In order for students to truly do their best, they need to come to school on time, have a good night’s sleep, and a healthy breakfast.
Volunteers for the Spring Fling
Just in time for Mothers’ Day shopping , we are organizing the Parish’s Annual Spring Fling on
Friday , May 11 from 6-9PM and Saturday, May 12 from 10 to 6. This event features wonderful vendors selling everything from food to jewelry to home goods to clothing at reasonable prices, as well as exciting raffle items.
One of the big money making parts of this is a Grandma’s Attic where people donate goods and they are sorted and displayed for sale. Some examples are dish sets, toys, glassware, artwork, books, electronics, appliances, luggage, pocketbooks, sporting goods, musical instruments. This is where you young and savvy parents come in —we are asking for volunteers – families, parents, kids, cool grandparents- to organize the donations on the Lower Church Hall stage, put them on display and do the selling? We would start collection a week or so after Easter. This can be done in shifts and we will help you every step of the way.
Please contact us to volunteer or to ask any further questions.
