It is finally beginning to feel a bit like Spring! Here are some important updates from Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Academy!

Re-Registration: Nursery, K-8

 Priority registration for current students and their relatives is due on Thursday, April 27. In order to secure your seat, a $250 registration fee is required. Families must be current on this year’s tuition to register for next year.  It is imperative that you return the form as soon as possible to ensure that your child has a seat for the 2018-19 school year. If you need another form, please contact the office and it will be sent home to you.

Pre-K for all acceptance letters will be sent home on or around Wednesday, May 9.

Financial Aid

Financial aid applications for students in Grades K-8, who attend a Brooklyn or Queens School or Academy opened on Monday, January 15. Once you have registered for next year, you can apply online for a Diocesan scholarship. Families who apply during the first round are the only ones eligible for the maximum scholarship. Scholarship Deadlines:

  • Families who received an award last academic year: March 30, 2018
  • New families: April 30, 2018

Home Academy Association

Please join us for our next monthly Home Academy Association meeting on Tuesday, April 24 at 6:30PM in the school library. All parents are encouraged to attend the meeting as some of the following items will be discussed: school mission and vision, discussion of the Glow Party, establishing better communication methods among parents in each class, and methods of supporting the academy in its efforts to enrich the school culture. We hope to see you on Tuesday

Spring Fling

Thank you so much to the school and the parish for the core group of volunteers who will helm Grandma’s Attic for the Parish’s Annual Spring Fling on Friday , May 11 from 6-9PM and Saturday, May 12 from 10 to 6.  This is one of the big money-making events and we are lucky to have you. 

We are looking to expand this core group of volunteers so that the many hands enjoy a lot of laughs ; but, also pool their collective artistry and savvy for  assessment, display, and pricing to make this our best ever in a fun, supportive environment .  

Won’t you please consider joining us (no slouches in the work and fun department- ask anyone) letting your talent and personality shine for this event?

Race for Education

 Please mark your calendars! Our annual Walk-a-thon will be taking place on Friday, May 25. All information was distributed last week. If you need additional copies, please contact the office. With your help, we hope to raise even more funds for our school.

This year’s Race is dedicated to improving our outdoor space. We are raising funds to create a beautiful play space for our students and air conditioning for our gymnasium. Each student will raise funds by asking sponsors- friends, neighbors and family-to donate a (tax deductible) fixed amount.
